Welcome from the Chair of Governors

On behalf of all members of the Governing Body, I would like to welcome you to Court Moor School, which is undoubtedly a very special place, and one of which we are very proud.

Our core purpose as a school is to ensure that all students become resilient, independent, confident and ambitious learners, who enjoy and celebrate success.  We aim to do this by developing a caring community, with a sense of collective responsibility; staff, students, parents, governors and the local community, all working together, with a common goal and a commitment to learning.   This is encapsulated in our school motto “Caring to achieve”.

High academic standards are undoubtedly a key priority for us as a school and as a governing body we work closely with Mr Jenkins and his senior leadership team to ensure that this is achieved.  We do however also think it is vital to equip our students with more than just academic qualifications, wanting them to develop skills, attitudes and resilience, which will enable them to thrive in their lives after leaving Court Moor.  We are therefore very supportive of extra-curricular activities, and the work experience and mock interview programme offered to our Year 10 students, amongst many other initiatives.

As governors, we believe it is vitally important to maintain close links with staff, parents and students, and in this regard, students will often see us around the school.  We also aim to attend as many school functions as we can, including parents’ consultation events, so if there are ever any issues you would like to discuss with us, please don’t hesitate to approach us.
