Careers Café: Healthcare
BackWe welcomed Nicola Morgan, Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust Learning & Development Manager, and Eleanor Shingleton-Smith, Deputy Chief People Officer, to our careers café this morning to talk about healthcare careers.
It was all about big numbers, with facts such as the NHS employing 1.5 million people, being the biggest employer in Europe, and the fifth biggest in the world. In a day the trust sees around 700 people in the emergency department, admits around 400 people, and has over 4000 outpatients. A whole classroom of around 30 babies are born there every day.
There are around 350 roles in the NHS, ranging from gardeners to surgeons. There are also a huge variety of entry points into the NHS, including around 700 apprenticeships.
Thanks to Nicola for a really interesting talk!
