Information for Businesses, Employers and Post-16 Providers

Our students are entering into an increasingly competitive and quickly evolving jobs market at a time of great financial and political uncertainty. We aim to help every student to reach their full potential and progress towards a successful destination by providing them with the widest possible range of employer and careers related opportunities throughout their time at the school. Our comprehensive careers programme aims to ensure that all students have access to as many possible engagements with businesses, employers and post-16 providers through a wide range of activities.

We run regular ‘Careers Café’ talks, in which students are given presentations on particular roles/industries, and the opportunity to ask questions. For example, this academic year includes talks on becoming a solicitor, architect, paramedic and personal trainer.

If you or your business is willing to help, please see the possible ways in which you might get involved below.

  • Assemblies or ‘Careers Café’ talks about your profession and experiences
  • Offering to host students for a tour at your place of work
  • Work experience – we are proud that all of our Year 10 students go out on ‘work experience’ week in June and we are always keen to extend our links with local companies who are willing to host our students
  • Year 10 Interview Day - this is held annually, following work experience. Students take part in mock interviews with business volunteers, focusing on career aspirations, college applications and employability skills.
  • STEM workshops/practical activities/challenges
  • Sponsorship – we run charity-based events throughout the year - we would love to have sponsorship from local companies or businesses
